The Quaker United Nations Summer School provides the opportunity for a group of 25 young people to come together to learn more about Quaker work at the international level, and develop knowledge and competencies relevant to the work of the United Nations. The programme is grounded in QUNO Geneva’s work, with a focus on peace, disarmament, human rights, migration, sustainable and just economic systems, and climate change.
In the past, this programme has taken the format of a 12 day residential programme in Geneva. As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the summer school will take place in a virtual format in 2021. The programme will bring together a diverse group of participants to learn, develop and build community online. It will equip participants with the skills to think constructively about the value of the multilateral system and international politics.
The summer school will take place online from the 5-16 July. The programme will run via a virtual platform Monday – Friday from 2:30pm – 6pm CEST. There is no cost for participating in QUNSS 2021.
